Abstract

A procedure for determining the functional form of the exponent in the nonlinear damage equation from a limited number of block loading fatigue tests is presented. The theory and experimental details are demonstrated for solution-treated and aged Ti 6-4 at 278°C1 . The predictive accuracy of the derived functional fit is then shown for additional independent block loading fatigue tests.
